A Place for Parents

If you are a parent or caregiver, we want to support you to provide what you need for children of all ages at your home, at their school, and on your block. Because every parent wants their child to have strong social and academic skills, KidZone works to build natural networks of support within a community and to promote understanding of the basic principles of child and youth development. 

When families have access to practical information, skills, and a supportive community to help them through the rough spots, they can be more consistent in emotionally healthy parenting. Effective parenting helps prevent child abuse and helps children do better in school. Children whose parents nurture and assist them by being positively engaged in their school, for example, not only have higher academic achievement, better attendance and improved behavior in school, but they are also better prepared for life outside of the classroom.
