Leadership CouncilComposed of the dynamic leadership of six local/regional community organizations and one elected official, KidZone PHILADELPHIA’s Leadership Council members have long histories of driving positive change for our city and creating best practices nationally. Additionally, staff representatives from each organization provide invaluable planning support, coordination and collaboration. Foundations Inc.Foundations Inc. is the organizational and operational home of KidZone PHILADELPHIA. Based out of Moorestown, NJ, Foundations is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides professional development, training, technical assistance, assessment tools, and publications to build the quality of educational experiences for low-income children and youth nationwide. Germantown Settlement (GS)One of the oldest Settlement Houses in the country, Germantown Settlement was founded in 1884 as a multi-purpose human service agency that provides comprehensive programs and services out of four community facilities that address the needs of individuals and families, from infants to seniors. In addition to its work on KidZone PHILADELPHIA Leadership Council, Germantown Settlement collaborates with KidZone on a variety of community-based initiatives. Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC)Through public policy, direct service, and technical assistance for non-profit organizations, GPUAC unites government, business, neighborhoods, and individual initiative to improve the quality of life in the region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues. Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation (OARC)OARC, is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) community development corporation whose primary mission is to create and stimulate economic development while improving the quality of life for residents in West Oak Lane and other neighborhoods throughout the Northwest section of Philadelphia. PA State Representative Dwight EvansIn addition to being KidZone’s neighbor on Ogontz Avenue, State Representative Evans secured critical funds for KidZone from the State of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development. From the conception of KidZone to date, Representative Evans has been a tireless supporter the initiative and its vision to make Philadelphia the best place for kids to grow up to be who and what they want to be. The Reinvestment Fund (TRF)TRF is a national leader in the financing of neighborhood revitalization. What began in 1985 as a small community development organization working in Greater Philadelphia, has evolved into a progressive, results-oriented, socially responsible community investment group that today works across the Mid-Atlantic region. United Way of Southeastern PA (UWSEPA)United Way’s mission is to improve people’s lives by mobilizing the caring power of donors, volunteers and communities. United Way targets its strategies at those critical passages in life that present opportunities for individuals and families to achieve long-term success. This approach maximizes United Way’s effectiveness, because it allows us to improve lives and communities in a lasting and meaningful way. IN addition to its work on the KidZOne PHILADELPHIA Leadership Council, United Way collaborates with KidZOne on a variety of community-based initiatives. |
